When Dogs Have Brought Us So Much Happiness, We Decided Not To Retire But "Rewire"
We are literally going to the dogs! We had struggled over the years with long work schedules and providing our crazy German Shorthaired Pointers an outlay for their energy and socialization during the day. We entrusted their care for a few days each week with a local daycare but really desired a "home away from home" setting, a lower ratio of dogs to dog care enthusiasts / supervision
(we take up to eight dogs only) and a healthy, safe and clean environment.
As we approached retirement age, we wanted to maintain an active and involved life. We evaluated what made us happiest and chose to use our business acumen doing what we truly love...hanging with the hounds!
All things that were our priority then, became the vision and foundation to create OUR facility. We appreciate the privilege to care for your dog(s). Whether you want to expand their socialization, provide fun companionship while you are away at work or traveling, we want you to feel comfortable we are simply an extension to your family.
Rescues Provide a Wealth of Experience
Chris and Julie began rescuing underprivileged dogs more than twenty years ago. It has brought us immense joy but knowing that while we cannot impact the true magnitude of dog homelessness, every placement matters. We dedicate our passion to each of the beloved dogs we have nurtured, loved, cared for and brought into our multiple dog family. We have dealt with medical needs requiring surgeries as well as restoring confidence with patience, understanding and more patience. Julie has served on multiple rescue Boards and we will always advocate spay and neuter to help stop the over population. Remember ADOPT, don't shop.
This is Bailey, our most recent rescue through Florida Pointer Rescue (great local all breeds rescue). This energetic two year old is also our Fitness Director who emulates happiness and fun, but be warned, she can't control her licker!
Knowing Dog Courses / CPR Certified
To better prepare for opening our facility, we devoted time and energy to learn more about breed characteristics and temperaments, dog language and social gestures, body posture continuums, signals and responses through The Dog Gurus.
We were also certified by Central Florida K9 in July 2025 for Pet First Aid / CPR / Safety.
